New School Year...

Last week was Micah and Noah's first days of school. For Noah this was old hat, having already done this last year, but for Micah it was full of new beginnings. He is in the morning class at school and there are 14 other kids in his class. He told me the morning of his first day that he planned on making new friends, but didn't want any girls in his class...silly boy!

Noah is so excited. He got a new backpack this year with Bumblebee on it from Transformers.
And Micah giving his brother a big hug before school. They go on different days. Noah goes Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Micah goes Tuesday, Thursday. I wish I could explain the helmet, but I figure if he likes wearing it, at least he'll have it on when he is riding his bike.
The teacher sent us this picture of Micah's first day in school. Looks like everyone is having fun! But, seriously, when did they grown up enough to be going to school??

First Half!!

Yesterday I ran my first half marathon. It was so fun! The course was beautiful and wrapped around a lake. Runners were very encouraging to one another. This is the just the beginning for me, I hope! Chris wants to do one in May next year, so that will be great to do one together!

This is a picture with my friends Josh and Liz. They do races like this a lot more often and did a phenomenal job! Josh ran it in 1:43 and Liz in 1:57.

Chris and the boys met me at two points during the course. It was very need family encouragement at those two spots. The first was at mile 9 at the top of a hill and the second was at mile 12. This picture was taken at the latter.
Crossing the finish line! There are two times you are given...one is "gun time" and the other is "chip time". You run with a chip on your leg. Then when you start/finish it records the EXACT time you did the race. My chip time was 2:11:02.
I took these next couple pictures just before bed last night. This is where I got my blisters. My socks had slipped down and my foot was rubbing on the shoe. They are pretty sore today...
This pic was just before I was able to clean it up. You can see the blood, but the blister is just really beginning to form.
